The Yale Young Global Scholars Program
The Yale Young Global Scholars Program is an intensive two-week pre-collegiate academic program at Yale for rising high school juniors and seniors. Each year, over 300 students from around the world come to Yale to attend the program and take courses in politics, law, and international relations.
Two summer programs – Politics, Law, and Economics (PLE) and Studies in Grand Strategy (GS) – are interdisciplinary in scope. During the programs, students read primary source materials, articles, and books on a wide variety of issues, participate in lively team exercises and simulations, and gain invaluable instruction in university-level writing.
As an official Yale University program that is administered by University officials, high school students can expect a first-rate summer experience studying in Yale’s lecture halls and classrooms, living in a residential college, engaging with world-renowned professors, and interacting with extraordinary visiting practitioners. The Yale Young Global Scholars Program brings the best of the academic and policy communities together in a scholarly learning environment. The program’s instructional staff teach the same material and in the same manner as in undergraduate courses here at Yale, and focus on helping students increase their critical thinking skills, communication skills, and leadership skills.
Need based financial aid is available. Application deadlines are April 18 and May 3, 2013. For more information, please visitglobalscholars.yale.edu.
